Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX, 1282-1328. Hyperpyron (Electrum, 23 mm, 3.82 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis. Bust of Virgin Mary, orans, within city walls furnished with six groups of towers; to left and right, MHP and ΘV. Rev. Christ blessing Andronicus II and Michael IX, kneeling to left and right, respectively; in upper field to left, XC; to left and right, slightly blundered legend. SB 2396. A few scratches and the reverse weakly struck, otherwise, good very fine.
